Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about booking and travelling with Chalo Travellers. Can’t find your answer? Just reach out — we’re a message away.
Booking & Payments
How do I book a tour with Chalo Travellers?
You can book in three ways: enquire on any tour package page and our team will call you back, message us on WhatsApp at +91 62000 39989, or email [email protected]. We confirm availability, share the detailed itinerary and quote, and hold your seat once the booking amount is received.
How much do I need to pay to confirm my booking?
A booking amount confirms your seat, with the balance due before departure. The exact deposit and payment schedule are shown on your official quote and invoice before you pay. For flights, visas and peak-season group departures, a higher advance may be required, and we always tell you upfront.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept UPI, bank transfer/NEFT, and major debit and credit cards. You receive an official confirmation and receipt for every payment. We never ask for payments to personal accounts — always use the account details on your official Chalo Travellers invoice.
Are your prices per person or per group?
Package prices shown are “starting from” and per person on twin-sharing basis unless stated otherwise. The final cost depends on your travel dates, room occupancy, group size and any add-ons. You always get a clear, itemised quote before paying.
Tours, Itineraries & Inclusions
What is included in a tour package?
Inclusions vary by package but typically cover accommodation, listed meals, transfers and sightseeing, permits where required, and a tour coordinator. Each package page lists its exact inclusions and exclusions. Flights and visas are usually quoted separately unless the package says otherwise.
Can I customise an itinerary or travel on my own dates?
Yes. Alongside fixed group departures, we arrange fully customised private trips — your dates, pace, hotel category and activities. Share your preferences and we design an itinerary and quote to match.
What does “5N | 6D” mean on a package?
It is the trip length — for example “5N | 6D” means 5 nights and 6 days. The number of nights tells you how many hotel stays are included; the days cover your full travel duration including arrival and departure.
What kind of accommodation do you provide?
From comfortable 3-star hotels to premium 4- and 5-star properties, homestays and campsites on treks — depending on the package and your budget. You can always request an upgrade and we will re-quote.
Group Trips, Treks & Pilgrimages
What are “Group Trips” and who joins them?
Group Trips are fixed-departure tours where you join a small group of fellow travellers led by our coordinator. They are ideal for solo travellers and friends who want a social, hassle-free experience at a great price.
Are the Himalayan treks suitable for beginners?
Many of our treks are beginner-friendly and graded easy to moderate; some are challenging and need prior experience and fitness. Each trek lists its difficulty. Our team helps match you to the right trek and shares a fitness and packing guide before you go.
Do you organise pilgrimage (yatra) tours?
Yes — we run pilgrimage tours to major destinations across North, South, East, West and Central India, with comfortable transport, vetted stays and experienced guides so you can focus on the journey.
International Tours, Documents & Visa
Do you handle visas for international tours?
We assist with visa documentation and guidance for our international packages (such as Thailand, Vietnam, Bali, Dubai, Europe and more). Visa fees are usually not included in the package price unless stated. Final approval always rests with the destination’s embassy or consulate.
What documents do I need to travel?
For domestic trips, carry a government photo ID (Aadhaar, passport or driving licence). For international trips you need a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date, the relevant visa, and any destination-specific requirements we share with your booking.
Health, Safety & On-Trip Support
Is it safe to travel with Chalo Travellers?
Your safety is our priority. We work with verified partners, experienced drivers and trained trek leads, follow local guidelines, and keep a support line open throughout your trip. For treks and adventure activities we brief you on safety and recommend suitable insurance.
Do you recommend travel insurance?
Yes, we strongly recommend travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellation and baggage — especially for treks, adventure activities and international travel. We can guide you on suitable options.
Who do I contact during my trip if I need help?
You will have a dedicated coordinator and a support number shared in your final travel documents, so help is always a call or WhatsApp message away.
Cancellations & Refunds
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Cancellation and refund terms depend on how far ahead you cancel and on third-party bookings such as flights, visas and permits, which follow the supplier’s rules. The exact terms that apply to your trip are shared on your invoice at the time of booking — please contact us and we will walk you through them.
What happens if a trip is cancelled due to weather or unforeseen events?
If we cancel a departure for reasons such as weather, natural events or insufficient group size, we offer a reschedule, a credit for a future trip, or a refund of recoverable costs. Third-party costs already paid (like non-refundable flights or permits) are governed by those suppliers’ policies.
