Three Maharashtra pilgrimage sites within a comfortable drive of each other. This Shirdi Shani Shingnapur Nashik tour package covers the Sai Baba samadhi, the village famously without doors, and one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.

Four days is enough to do all three without rushing any of them, which two-day versions of this route cannot manage.

What makes this Shirdi Shani Shingnapur Nashik tour package different

  • Kakad Aarti included — the pre-dawn ceremony, when the temple is quietest.
  • Shani Shingnapur as a half-day — not a rushed roadside stop.
  • Trimbakeshwar included — a Jyotirlinga and the source of the Godavari.
  • Private vehicle throughout — the three sites are spread across 200 km.
  • Vineyard option — Nashik is India wine capital, and a non-temple hour is welcome by day four.

Who this trip suits

Pilgrims, families and devotees. No physical demands beyond temple queues, which can be long. Modest dress is required at all three sites.

A note on seasons

October to March is the most comfortable. Guru Purnima in July, Ram Navami, and Vijayadashami bring very heavy crowds to Shirdi with darshan waits running into many hours. The Nashik Kumbh Mela, held roughly every twelve years, makes the city effectively unbookable – check dates before planning.

Tour Plan

Day 01 ARRIVAL IN SHIRDI | SAMADHI MANDIR & DWARKAMAI EVENING

Arrival: Arrive at Shirdi airport or by road from Mumbai or Pune. Check in and rest before the evening darshan.

Samadhi Mandir: The marble tomb where Sai Baba was laid in 1918, and the centre of the whole complex.

Dwarkamai: The mosque where he lived for sixty years. The dhuni, the sacred fire he lit, has been kept burning continuously since.

Chavadi: Across the lane, where he slept on alternate nights in his later years.

  • Top Places to Cover: Samadhi Mandir, Dwarkamai, Chavadi, Gurusthan, Lendi Baug.
  • Importance of Each Place: Sai Baba lived in Shirdi from around 1858 until his death in 1918 and was claimed by both Hindu and Muslim communities, which is why the site holds a mosque and a temple together.
  • Things to Know: Free and paid darshan queues run separately. Phones and cameras are not permitted inside the Samadhi Mandir and must go in the cloakroom.

Meals: Dinner | Overnight: Shirdi

Day 02 KAKAD AARTI & SHANI SHINGNAPUR | THE VILLAGE WITHOUT DOORS

Before Dawn: Kakad Aarti at the Samadhi Mandir begins before sunrise and is the quietest the temple gets all day.

Shani Shingnapur: About 70 km on. The Shani deity stands on an open platform under the sky with no roof over it, and the village famously keeps no doors or locks on its houses - a practice residents attribute to the deity protection.

Return: Back to Shirdi in the afternoon for a second darshan if you want one.

  • Top Places to Cover: Kakad Aarti, Shani Shingnapur temple, the doorless houses, Shirdi museum.
  • Importance of Each Place: Shani Shingnapur is one of very few temples in India where the deity stands entirely in the open, and the absence of doors in the village is genuine rather than a story told for visitors.
  • Things to Know: Kakad Aarti requires arriving around 4 am. At Shani Shingnapur, men entering the inner platform traditionally wear a dhoti provided at the site.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner | Overnight: Shirdi

Day 03 SHIRDI TO NASHIK | TRIMBAKESHWAR & THE GODAVARI GHATS

To Nashik: About 90 km west.

Trimbakeshwar: Twenty-eight kilometres further, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The Godavari, the longest river in peninsular India, rises here at Brahmagiri hill.

Panchavati: On the Godavari in Nashik, where Rama, Sita and Lakshmana are said to have lived in exile. Ram Kund is the main bathing ghat and Kalaram temple stands above it.

  • Top Places to Cover: Trimbakeshwar temple, Brahmagiri hill, Panchavati, Ram Kund, Kalaram temple, Sita Gufa.
  • Importance of Each Place: Nashik is one of the four cities that host the Kumbh Mela, and the Ram Kund is where the bathing takes place. Trimbakeshwar is unusual among Jyotirlingas in having three faces representing Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
  • Things to Know: Sanctum entry at Trimbakeshwar is restricted and men must wear a dhoti with no upper garment. Queues can run several hours on Mondays and during Shravan.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner | Overnight: Nashik

Day 04 DEPARTURE | VINEYARD MORNING OR ONWARD TRAVEL

A Different Morning: Nashik produces the majority of India wine and the Sula and Sanskriti estates both run tours and tastings.

Departure: Transfer to Nashik Road station or on to Mumbai, about 170 km.

  • Top Places to Cover: Sula Vineyards, Sanskriti, Nashik Road station.
  • Things to Know: Vineyard tours run to fixed slots and book out at weekends. Mumbai is four hours away - allow for it.

Meals: Breakfast | Overnight: Journey ends
